What I did for my health today...

Today's calendar page kept me motivated.  It was cold and dreary and I didn't want to do my 1.5 miles; I couldn't find anyone to go with me, but I kept looking at this thinking I had to do it.  And my sweet friend let me come over and run on her treadmill.  Thank you!!  Out of 25 minutes, I ran 15!!  Yay me!  Then I went to an invigorating Zumba class tonight.  I have over 12,500 steps today!  I never have that much.  Yay me!!  I hope you all are rocking it too!

What I did for myself today...



I went to the park at lunch and attempted to run 1.5 miles...in actuality I alternated running and walking and with the warmup/cooldown I did 1.72 miles.

Now let's all stop wishing we were healthy and start doing something about it!

What I did for my health today...


Today I walked a mile (in the freaking cold), did Zumba and signed up for a Biggest Loser competition at my Zumba studio.  Hubby is doing it with me so we will be able to keep each other motivated.  The BL competition goes 3 months and ends before my 40th birthday.  I'm taking that as a sign that I'm destined to win.  Don't you think?  

I've done a great job over the last 7-8 weeks cutting out sweets and soda.  I've had one soda and a very minimal amount of sweets over the holidays.  Now if I'm going to be serious about winning I'm going to have to cut out the alcohol too.  Sigh...I must do what I must do.

What I did for my family this weekend...


My wonderful hubby bought me Daily Calendar for Runners by Goneforarun.com and it has great inspirational quotes and a place to enter your miles for the day. I'm hoping with this front and center on my desk, I'll find the inspiration to go out and walk or run.  

So what I did for my family this weekend was take the kids to the park and did a 1.72 mile walk.  There was minimal complaining that was squashed by a promise to play on the playground after two laps.  I had originally planned to do a 3rd lap after playground time, but my back is not quite right yet after I lost to some Burpees last weekend.

Maybe I'll join a Biggest Loser challenge for some additional inspiration.

Happy New Year! What I did for myself today...

Today I let myself sleep in and catch up on some much-needed sleep.

I've decided to make 2016 a year of reflecting on what I've done for myself, my health and my family.  I feel that focusing on the good of the day will help me in becoming healthier and happier.

My wonderful hubby bought me a Runner's daily calendar with motivational sayings and a spot to put in my daily mileage.  I have it front and center on my desk as a daily reminder to focus on my health.

Who else is going to make health and happiness a priority?
