So I think this picture says it all.  In the world of cliches you see a pregnant woman and you expect to see her sitting down knitting something in a soft pink or blue yarn.
Lately I've been feeling like a cliche.  I bring my knitting with me when I pick my daughter up from school, I knit while waiting at dance classes, I knit in the car (when i'm a passenger).  Yesterday, on the Monday of all Mondays, the feeling was particularly strong.

Monday morning:  We woke up late, the school clothes were all in the dryer and due to me putting too many jeans in the dryer all the school shirts were way too damp to wear.  Redrying made us even later.  In my rush out the door, I forgot my phone.  After I make my quick crossing over a local highway, I hear something like a snap although there was nothing I could see in the road.  I finished the drive to school in a rush, hearing a strange sound the whole way.  "Please don't let there be something wrong with the tire and if there is just let me get her to school on time."  We did.  And as we're getting out of the car I hear the lovely hissing of air leaking out of my back tire.  Wonderful!  Being 6 months pregnant, I don't bend down to easily, so one of our friends was kind enough to feel the tire and find a nice bolt sticking out of it, allowing the leak to continue at a slow pace.  Now remember I have no phone, so I can't call my husband to tell him what's going on and if I go completely flat on the way to the tire repair place, i have to phone to call for help.  In comes another friend, who offers to follow me to the tire place.  I get there with no phone, but guess what...my knitting was in my purse.  So I sat down in the waiting room and knocked out another row of my Faroese Shawl by Georgia Druen.  As I'm sitting there, that's when it strikes me.  I am such a cliche...big pregnant lady knitting...all I was missing was the sky blue yarn. (pssst - that picture is not me.)

Under Construction

This blog is under construction.  We're sorry for any inconvenience.

I'm working on my items on the right...ideally I'd like to link to some pictures or something...I just have to figure out how to do that.  Oh yeah, and take some pictures!

Finally, the MSDW Trip - The Trip

So I'm finally writing about my trip to Maryland Sheep and Wool...it's only 5 months late.  Once upon a time (early this year) Irishclover suggested we take a BFF trip to the MSDW and go wool shopping and have some girl time.  My wonderful hubby said I should definitely go.  It was close enough to stay at my aunt and uncle's house in DC.

My uncle, of course, made fun of us for travelling across the country to buy string and couldn't believe that there would be a lot of people there.  The teasing was all in good fun.  So these pictures are for him.  The first picture was taken when we slowed to a crawl 2 miles before our turn.  The second...well...that's about a tenth of the parking lot.

We went to the show both days.  It was a blast!  And we came home with all kinds of goodies which will be seen in a separate post.

My aunt, uncle and cousin were the greatest hosts.  Uncle D took us on his famous night tour of DC, which we aptly renamed "The DC Starbucks Tour."  It was so amazing.  We drove past many of the sites, got out at the White House and of course (my favorite) the Lincoln Memorial.  I think part of it was my pregnant bladder was ready to get out of the car, but I'll use any excuse to see the Lincoln Memorial.  I'm always in awe.  The Starbucks part of it, I'm pretty sure there was one on every other block.

The always awesome Lincoln.

I don't think we'll be able to make it an annual trip, but we're definitely going to do it again!!  Love you IrishClover!
