TEN for 2010 is an idea I got from my favorite podcast, Stash and Burn. Jenny and Nicole were talking about it in their January 5th podcast. It came from a discussion board in Ravelry's Stash and Burn Groupies group. Basically the idea was to come with 10 new techniques that you want to learn in 2010. So let's begin...
No. 1 - Cables. I have yet to learn how to cable.
No. 2 - Knitted in pleats. Now, I don't know if this is considered a technique or not but I'm very curious to see how this is done.
I plan to accomplish these first two with Nora's Sweater by Pamela Powers, which is on the cover of the Winter 2009 Interweave Knits. We're starting this as a knit-along project on 2/11. I don't think I'd have the courage to try it otherwise...Margaret promises me I can do it.
I am so excited for this project. We're going to use Lana D'Oro by Cascade Yarns. I've picked out #1036 which is this gorgeous deep red. A week or so after I ordered the yarn, I was going through my stash and discovered that I already had one skein of it that I had received as a give-away at the Stitch n Pitch. Now, I need to find a one-skein accessory to knit that will go with my sweater. I'm thinking of some type of hat...hmmm...
More on TEN for 2010, as I think of them.
What kind of superhero do you want to be?
